| We offer two diffferent types of advice, and an execution-only service. |
| Full advice, where we review and analyse your current financial situation, discuss your requirements with you in detail, then make recommendations. Although inevitably we will need quite detailed information from you before we can make recommendations, I believe you obtain the best possible advice from us by choosing this route. Focussed advice, where you instruct us to focus on just one specific area, such as pensions, or investment, or a mortgage, and so on. The advantage of this from your point of view is that it is less time-consuming: we should be able to come up the right answer quicker. The risk is that we cannot be held responsible for the possible impact of our advice on another area about which we know nothing and in which we have not been involved. However, it is fair to say that most new clients opt for focussed advice, initially at least. Execution-only service, which would be useful if you have already decided exactly which product you wish to invest in and just want us to carry out the administration for you. We would require a letter from you stating exactly what you require and that we had not given you any advice on the product. We do not discount commission, however. We believe that the best results can only be achieved by careful analysis of our clients' requirements, and personal discussions with them. |
